K10D for sale

Wed Mar 25, 2009, 12:39 PM
Just about 15 months ago I bought my K10D, thinking it would kill my photography. To the contrary, I have fallen in love with the lens all over again - so much so that I am upgrading to a K20D. That means my K10D is going to be for sale soon. Send me a message if you're interested, otherwise it'll go up on eBay.

Film was great - I loved film - I still love film - but digital, contrary to my expectations, is just as great in its own way.

K20D - here I come!

  • Listening to: KC and the Sunshine Band
  • Reading: Helen Fisher
  • Watching: my fingers move
  • Playing: fast and loose
  • Eating: nothing
  • Drinking: H2O

Pentax K10D

Mon Dec 17, 2007, 12:39 PM
  • Mood: Awestruck
  • Listening to: Tool
  • Reading: Irvine Welsh
  • Watching: my fingers move
  • Playing: fast and loose
  • Eating: nothing - my tummy hurts
  • Drinking: my own medicine
Yeah - I gave in. I bought one. It'll probably be the death of everything artistic I've ever done. Then again - maybe not. I just need to read the manual - man this thing has a lot of buttons . . . I went with the Pentax because it should work with all my older Pentax K-mount lenses, thereby sparing me an even more substantial outlay of capital. Any tips from those more apt than I on the process of switching from film to digital, I will very much appreciate.

Why nude, indeed!

Fri Jun 15, 2007, 7:45 AM
  • Mood: Awestruck
  • Listening to: water running
  • Reading: my own words
  • Watching: people on the street
  • Playing: Glen Hansard
  • Eating: an egg
  • Drinking: decaf
Someone asked me why I preferred to shoot nude models - my immediate response (aside from the fact that, well, naked women are just amazing to look at) is that when clothes are involved I feel like I am shooting an advertising for clothing. In my subtle and slightly hypocritical way, shooting naked people is a jab at our consumer culture.

Once

off topic, but I went to see this lovely movie last night called Once.

It made me cry. If you like a nice little love story, and especially if you love music, you cannot help but be moved by this charming little film and the absolutely stunning songs with which it is infused.

If you like it, check out Irish band The Frames - a little known band in the US, which is pretty huge (and deservedly so) in Britain. The lead singer from that band is the male lead in the movie.

  • Mood: Awestruck
  • Listening to: the hum of my hepa filter
  • Reading: The New York Times
  • Watching: people on the street
  • Playing: The Frames
  • Drinking: decaf
